These diagrams show ring-necked pheasants with blinders (called hoods or specs) mounted through their nostrils, and the different appearances of male and female day-old chicks. The illustrations were used for a book on international gamebird husbandry.

Bettong and reindeer diagrams
bettong ear notches and reindeer use as a pack animal
The diagram at upper left helps breeders identify bettongs by their ear notch number. The reindeer (caribou) diagrams were for a booklet on international pack animal use by the Royal Geographic Society. Leveille Illustration made diagrams of proper animal anatomy, saddlery, gait, and conformation for all pack animals, from dogs to oxen to elephants.
