Animal identification illustrations
Dozens of animal identification signs such as these were illustrated by Leveille Illustration for the Los Angeles Zoo. Older signs were made with ceramic paints on tiles. More recently sign graphics were painted with acrylics. Most current signs are designed entirely on a computer.

Rascal Raccoon is the recycling mascot of the Los Angeles Zoo. Leveille Illustration wrapped his natural-gas powered vehicle with eye-catching graphics so he could travel to schools in style. Note the reflective text and recycling wheel covers!
Leveille Illustration was granted most creative control of this ZooMobile, and the result was a fun and wild ride. The komodo dragon was designed to wrap the roof. The flamingo and the condor decorate the hood. Three great apes sit in the rear window, with a pile of fruit.

Spider City backdrop banner
Spider City was a fun, but temporary, exhibit at the Los Angeles Zoo. Real arachnids were housed in a miniature comic-book style city. This trompe L'oeil backdrop gave guests the illusion that they were walking down a boulevard overlooking the metropolis.

This mural was painted freehand on a bumpy outside wall. Due to the proximity of the facing wall, it was difficult to photograph, which accounts for the stitched-together appearance here. Animals are depicted leaving Noah's Ark and moving through their proper habitats. Over 400 plants and animals are identified on an accompanying plaque.

These large banners covered the windows of the new Discovery Room at the Los Angeles Zoo. They were designed entirely in Adobe Illustrator, under a tight deadline. The lighthearted graphics inspire children to follow the path of the meandering text around the building.
